7th March - In My Heart You’ll Always Be

What a contrast today, the early morning was such a disappointment after the beautiful frosty mornings we have had all week.  It was overcast misty and damp, and quickly this turned to rain.  The rain passed through by mid morning and slowly it brightened up, and by lunch time the sun was out and the temperature soared.

As a result of this complete change I was treated to the first Brimstone butterfly of the year as I walked down Reads Field.  This was then quickly followed by another in the garden.

No actual picture from today so this is one from November when a freshly emerged butterfly just like the two today was about.

The only other thing of note was a male Blackbird in the garden with striking white patches on the head and neck, and Robin song battles, with two at either side of the garden singing as if their lives depended on it.
